Dr. Michael Prematta was born in Reading, PA in 1979. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at Penn State University in 2001 before completing medical school at the Penn State University College of Medicine in 2005.
He completed a three-year internship and residency in Internal Medicine followed by a two-year Allergy/Immunology fellowship at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. From 2010 to 2015 he worked as an Allergist in a practice in West/Central Pennsylvania and was associated with the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
Dr. Michael Prematta has been published in many medical journals and authored a chapter in a textbook devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases. He continues to participate in medical education and serves as a board member for the Pennsylvania Allergy and Asthma Association where he also served as the 2015 Meeting Program Chair. He is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology and the American College of Asthma, Allergy, and Immunology. Dr. Michael Prematta has a special interest in treating patients with asthma, allergic rhinitis, angioedema, urticaria, food allergies, and immune deficiencies.
In 2015 Dr. Michael Prematta joined Klein Allergy and sees allergy and immunology patients of all ages.
